Abstract

In May 2024, in Meulaboh, there was a year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation of 3.80 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) at 107.53. The month-to-month (m-o-m) inflation rate and year-to-date (y-t-d) inflation rate for Meulaboh in May 2024 were 0.16 percent and 2.24 percent, respectively.

The y-o-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the rise in some expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 6.19 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 2.37 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.59 percent; the household appliances, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 2.64 percent; the health group by 2.98 percent; the transportation group by 0.93 percent; the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.52 percent; the education group by 0.7 percent; the food and beverage provision/restaurants group by 3.29 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 9.41 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group index that experienced a decrease was the recreation, sports, and cultural group by 1.22 percent.
