Abstract

In January 2024, year-on-year inflation (y-o-y) occurred in Meulaboh, amounting to 2.15 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) reaching 106.05.

Year-on-year inflation occurred due to the increase in prices, indicated by the rise in some expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 3.1 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 0.8 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.74 percent; the equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance group by 2.88 percent; the health group by 5.24 percent; the transportation group by 1.33 percent; the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.58 percent; the education group by 2.79 percent; the food and beverage service/restaurants group by 1.82 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 3.52 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group index that experienced a decrease was the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.46 percent.
